History

Located on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, Ames Farm Inn was established in 1890 by James Noah Ames on land that had been partially owned by his grandfather who was a pioneer settler of Gilford. Currently, the 4th and 5th generations of the Ames Family are operating the inn. Situated on approximately one hundred and fifty acres of Lake Shore, field, and mountain woodland, a variety of accommodations are offered. A quarter of a mile of sandy beach offers unsuprassed bathing and boating facilities.

What Our Guests Say:

We have driven by Ames Farm Inn on our way to Ellacoya State Park and have always liked the looks of the restaurant. Today was the first time we had time to stop for breakfast. Cannot say enough about how good the food is. I had blueberry pancakes–plenty of blueberries. They were excellent. Husband had a Spanish omelet-eggs nice and fluffy, very good salsa and he’s very particular about salsa. Service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast is served all day (they are open until 1PM). We didn’t have a wait but were there around 10AM

ANN

Great time with the family. Loved our cabin on the lake. Cant wait to return next year! My husband’s family has been coming every year for close to 50 years and always have a great time. I look forward to bringing my family and extended family in the future.
